Wedding Photography Information

It is YOUR Wedding Day

Your wedding day is one of the biggest and best days of your life. Whether you are surrounded by all of your nearest and dearest, or whether you decide on a wedding package in Mauritius, it is your day and should be enjoyed celebrating as you wish.

As a wedding photographer in Chandlers Ford, I know from experience the fun, yet hard work and stress that goes into organising  a wedding. Therefore worrying about the wedding photography should not be a factor.

A wedding photographer should never take over or impose themselves in any way. They should be there to help you, guide you and offer you a discreet yet warm and friendly service.

I have been photographing weddings in and around Chandlers Ford for the past 9 years, so I have a pretty good handle on how things run and how to get the best out of the day, for all involved!

My Wedding Photography Style

This is where I can help. My style of wedding photography is what is called reportage. Yes I will always shoot the ‘formal’ and posed photos of all the different groups, as these are always a lovely way of ensuring certain family members are captured together, but I also take a big step back and just allow the day’s events to unfold naturally in front of me. I have found that if too much is directed and contrived then the bride and groom don’t necessarily feel quite so relaxed or can’t spend as much time with all their friends and family as they’d like. Plus I love the story-telling factor that goes into photographing somebodys wedding day, and how all the pieces of the puzzle come together.

Caroline is the most amazing photographer, she captured every moment we wanted. Throughout all the photos she took she made everyone feel so comfortable around the camera! I cannot thank you enough for making our wedding photos so precious ❤️❤️❤️

Engagement Shoots

For me, being asked to photograph somebody’s wedding is a massive privilege, one that I treat with the greatest respect and professionalism. I like to meet up several times before the wedding to have a chat and go through the day so that we are all clear with timings. I also provide you with different photo ideas and group setups so you can start to have a think about what you want captured which I will then ask you to share with me.

An Engagement Shoot is offered with all of my wedding packages. This is for two reasons. It’s a good excuse to get you both in front of the camera so you can get used to being photographed, which is especially good for those shy or apprehensive individuals. Plus it gives me an idea of your chemistry and what you like/dislike in terms of posing. I also find it really useful to be able to visit the venue (either during the Engagement Shoot or at a different time) as this gives me an idea where and how we can use the grounds to their best advantage.

How to Choose your Wedding Photographer

The most important thing, I think, when thinking about your wedding photography and choosing your wedding photographer, is that you see examples of the work, are happy with the price and you trust them. There can be a discrepency with prices amongst photographers of all genres, and it is important that you feel that the quality of the service and the quality of the photographs reflects the price you are paying.

So please feel free to look at my images, read my testimonials and talk to me – I would love to meet up and discuss your plans and just get to know you! And any questions you have I can help you with – just contact me and I will do my best to help you!

The Wedding Day

When it comes to the wedding day itself, I will be there to help and shoot from the time you ask. Many brides like to have their entire mornings captured as they get ready, whereas others prefer the shooting to start from the moments the guests start to arive. This is completely up to you.

We will liase in advance, preferably at a meet-up at your wedding venue, where I will shoot from during the wedding ceremony. A lot of factors can affect this decision, from the venue, the priest or registrar to whether you are also having a wedding videographer.

I will also be asking from you, in advance, if you could ask a Groomsman to be on hand to help during the posed photographs. Even if you have very few groups that you want to capture, it is really helpful to have a member of the wedding party to help round people up for the photos in advance. This saves a huge amount of time. I will ensure that the groomsman has a copy of the ‘required photos’ list that we will have discussed and completed in advance.

Prices and Packages

Weddings are as individual as the couples who organise them, so I don’t not believe in a “one size fits all” approach when it comes to pricing. I offer 3 different packages that cover a range of different options. All packages include my shooting time, my processing time, a password-protected online gallery of your images that can easily be downloaded (great for sharing with family and friends) and a USB of all your memories. I am also happy to discuss alternative options with you if you are looking for a wedding photographer but have different requirements to those above.

Prints and Products

If you know that you would like to invest in some stunning artwork or an album or just peruse the package deals available, please feel free to look at my wedding prints and products page which hopefully should give you more of an indicationof what is on offer.

Separate products can also be found on my generic products page as well.

Other Options:

I love to be as flexible and accommodating as possible so I offer reduced rates for:

  • Mid-week weddings (Monday-Thursday)
  • Small weddings (less than 20 guests)
  • Winter weddings where there is far less light and opportunity to make the most of grounds and have photos outdoors.

If your wedding does not fit any category, or you would like to discuss something a little different, then please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my upmost to create a bespoke, meaningful and superior package for you.

What happens after the Wedding?

As I am sure you can appreciate, over the course of a wedding day I can take in excess of 1,500 photos, the editing of which can take a long time. I always aim to have your wedding photos back to you digitally within a month.

Once you have chosen the various products, farmes and prints etc that you would like as part of your package or as an add on, these will be ordered immediately.

Caroline was our wedding photographer. The images captured are all natural raw emotion rather than posed and forced. Caroline was excellent with the younger guests and was able to get natural smiles from our youngest bridesmaid who was 13 months old at the time. I loved how much care was taken in putting our photo album together- never before had I appreciated the art involved in photography. I will definitely be using Caroline for any future photography shoots! Can’t recommend enough.

What do we need to pay in advance to secure our wedding date with you?

When you book I will ask you to sign a contract which stipulates that a 20% deposit (and no more than £300) will be required at the time of booking.

I'm still a bit worried about COVID restrictions, what happens if we need to move our wedding date?

The last thing you need is more stress, so if I can do the new date then I will transfer the deposit across.

What do we do if it's rainingf on our wedding day?

Hopefully we will have the opportunity to look at wet weather / plan B plans when we have a look around the venue together before the wedding day. Failing that – I have several white umbrellas that we can use to play around in the rain in.

I'm not sure what products I want to purchase after the wedding, can I see some examples?

Of course! Just mention it in advance of one of our meetings and I will bring some examples with me!
