Baby Photography Information
Having a newborn baby is a rollercoaster of emotions. Whether it is your first baby or your fifth baby, there are some things that do not change – like how tiny and scrunched up they are at the beginning, to how small their feet are to oh how cute and spiky their baby hair is! We’re all guilty of going overboard with baby pictures for the first-born – we all had more time and didn’t have toddlers to entertain for 12 hours a day! That’s where baby photography comes in. – capturing those everyday and beautiful moments, before the kid is old enough to run away from you shouting “no” at the top of theior lungs!
I always hold baby photoshoots in the family home. I think that it makes for a far more relaxed and natural baby photoshoot, plus it is lovely to capture the whole family amongst all their family memories and is awesome to include any family pets. I find that the parents are far more relaxed and it is so much easier for an older sibling to be entertained and distracted if they are surrounded by all their own books and toys.
I don’t go in for gimmicks, props or costumes – it’s all about the simple and natural moments for me – the shots that capture your everyday and
Newborn photoshoots are great for capturing the cuddly and sleepy moments – whether it’s having a cuddle with older siblings or the whole family having a moment. As gorgeous as these are though – I just love shooting older babies, when their individual personalities and characters really come to life. 7-10 months is the ideal age for baby photography as they are generally sitting, showing an interest in toys (and the camera) and just love life! It’s is lovely to capture these moments in their bedrooms or surrounded by their favourite toys. Shoots can also include a bath, a meal, or story time – whatever moments you want to remember forever!
I am a Mum of two myself, so I get it – I get that babies don’t necessarily conform to the standard. I get that they may have a poonami just as I arrive, or need feeding every hour or changing every 5 minutes. And that is ok. My baby photoshoots are baby-led so we will fit in around what s/he needs. There is no point trying to shoehorn a shoot in between the school run and a Baby Sensory class, because 9 times out of 10 the babies will have other ideas. This is why I like to allow up to 3 hours for my shoots. This may seem like a long time, but it flies by in a flash believe me. It allows for everyone to just chill and relax – if baby is unhappy then I can concentrate on the older children, and if baby is happy then we just go for it!
“With a newborn baby and an almost 2 year old the thought of a newborn photo shoot at home was slightly nerve wracking, however we weren’t keen on the posed newborn photos and wanted some more natural ones in our new home. We found Caroline’s details online and really loved her style of photography.
Caroline was absolutely fantastic and made us feel completely at ease. Within a few minutes I felt as though we had known her for years. She was amazing with our toddler and was happy to work around him. She was incredibly patient and managed to capture some truly precious family moments. We are absolutely thrilled with the photos. They are exactly what we wanted, even better in fact. Caroline is extremely talented and we are so glad that we found her. I can not recommend her highly enough!
Thank you so much Caroline.”

“We have used Caroline several times now for pictures of our now 8 month old. She is really friendly and gets excellent smiles out of our boy (even when placed naked in a pumpkin!). We will definitely use Caroline again and have already recommended her to family and friends!”
“Caroline was so flexible about the shoot, arranging it when it worked for us and around very unpredictable nap times. Straight away she put my little one at ease and managed to bring the best mood and smiles out of her. We are so happy with the photos and will treasure them forever. I could not recommend Caroline more for a relaxed and stress free way to capture your little ones at their best.
Thank you Caroline!”
